1- Nuclear Family : consist of father mother and child living together onl, 38% of American families are nuclear.
2- Extended Family : three generation (any combination first , second ,and third generation members living within a
household ) ,including married
brother and sister and their families. Most Arab families are extended.

and wife or other couple living alone without children .
4- Single Parent : divorced , never married , separated or widowed have child or
more , most single parent families are headed by woman .

Step Parent : one or both spouse have been divorced or
widowed and have remarried into a family with at least one child .

Blended or reconstituted : a combination of two families with children
from one or both families and sometimes children of newly married couple .

Cohabitating : an unmarried
couple alone together.

relationship and exchanging support who have no legalized or blood tie to each
